London pharmacy launches private care home service

London pharmacy John Bell & Croyden has launched a private medication management service for care homes in the capital.

As part of the new InResidence Clinical Services, monthly and weekly deliveries of named-patient medication packs will be despatched, as well as daily acute medication deliveries.

The package, described as a “luxury” offering by a spokesperson, includes support from pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, including pharmacists working with care homes to carry out MURs, pharmacy audits, operational reviews and CQC audit preparation support.

The service also offers monitored community dosage systems, original pack dispensing and support for nursing staff in managing residents’ medication.

John Bell & Croydon general manager Alexander Johnston said: “We are delighted to launch our bespoke private care home services across central London.

"All services are tailored to meet the individual needs of the care home or hospice and a dedicated team of pharmacists and technicians will ensure that the operation is seamless, and each patient is made to feel both supported and valued."
